What is natural birth?
Is it possible to have a natural birth in a hospital?
How can a doula assist a woman to achieve this goal?
The workshop is three hours, and will be divided into theory, practice and discussion. Each hour will concentrate on two or three different aspects of natural birth in a hospital, and we will be using role play, stories, lecture, and other activities to learn about this complicated yet simple event.
What you should bring: We will provide light snacks and tea. Bring water for yourself, wear comfortable clothes, bring a notebook.
Babies under six months are welcome.
We will be using The Birth Conspiracy as our guide, and this book is included in the price of the workshop.

Birth Companions Doula Course
a knowledge-based, hands-off approach
This is a 30 hour that explores and explains the role of the doula as companion.
We will meet and get to know each other in a three hour introductory session, and the class time will be twenty-seven hours total.
The course will integrate theory and practice, and shadowing and mentoring may take place throughout.
The only prerequisite is enthusiasm.
We are pricing this course to be accessible for as many women as possible.
The course will be covering three main areas: theory, practice, and healing.

You do not need any prerequisites to do this course, but
we do ask that you are available and ready for class during the workshop.

Bring your own experiences, a notebook, your hands and an open heart. We will utilize The Birth Conspiracy as our main reference. Purchase will be included in the course price.
